The track 'Walkin' The Dog' is a cover.Debut album released in January 1973. Featured on the album is 'Dream On' which became an American top ten single when re-released in 1976.
The album peaked at #21 on the Billboard 200 in 1976.Initial copies with original cover misprinted the song 'Walkin' The Dog' as 'Walkin' The Dig'. Reissued with a different cover made up entirely of the photo of the band members.
When reissued on CD in 1993 as a remastered version, the original first pressing artwork was used. Bought this album in 1973 for.99¢ out of the discount bin. My friends and I all thought it kinda sounded like ZZ Top, (especially Movin' Out), and it quickly became a favorite. And, I could relate to their high school/dope troubles!

They shoulda kept those liner notes.Not long after, they came to my area, and played a small theater. Only about fifty people showed up, but the band tore it up. We had this album to ourselves for about a year, then they blew up all of a sudden! And deservedly so.People are often surprised when I say this is my favorite Aerosmith album. I'm sure some of it is sentimentality, but really, this album rocks.
I love the raw sound of it. It's the sound of a working bar band. Or the sound of a bar band working?

Whatever, it's gritty. About the only song I could do without is Dream On, possibly because it was such a big hit.
